FAQ

 

1. How do I register to become a participant in Free Prizes?

Go to the Home Page, enter your name and email address in the  'Is this Your First Time' box and press Go. You will be taken to the Contestant  Sign Up page. Enter your details as outlined and ensure that your email address is correct and press the Join Now button.

You will see a message on screen if you have successfully joined. You should receive an activation email immediately (depending on your server and connection speed). Take note of the password you are given in the activation email, and then click the blue link to activate your membership. You will be taken to the website and a message will be shown confirming that you have been activated.

You can now log in by entering your email address and specified password. You can change your password by going to the  "Your Account Details' section. Scroll down and press the 'Change Account Details'  button and proceed to change your password and any other details.

2. What if I forget my user name or password?

Your user name is your full email address. If you forget your password, please select the icon on the home page: Have You Forgotten Your Password? Your password will be reset automatically and sent to your email address.

3. Does it cost anything to join Free Prizes?

No, registering your details and registering all codes sighted is absolutely free.

4. Where do I get Free Prizes codes?

Free Prize codes are given out with every purchase from a participating retailer.

5. How often will the codes change?

The codes could be active anything from one week  to one year. Most retailers change their codes once each month. Once a code expires it cannot be entered onto the system. A message will be displayed on the system stating that the code is inactive.

6. When is the prize draw held?

Retailer prizes are drawn once a week on a Thursday night. The main $1,000 prize is now drawn once each month on a Thursday night. At midnight each Thursday, the Free Prizes system will close and no more codes will be accepted for that draw. At that time the winners will be drawn.

7. How do I maximise my chances of winning the draw?

Register as many different codes as possible each week. And register each code as often as possible while it is active. Each code can only be registered once per person per day.

8. How are the winners chosen ?

The winning person is selected randomly by a lottery component within the computer database.

9. Do the prizes change ?

The main monthly prize of $1,000.00 will remain constant, and is given away on the final Thursday night draw of each month. However, additional prizes provided by the many participating businesses may change each week. The prizes being given away each week are shown on your member page each time you log in.

10. If I win, how do I receive my prizes?

If you win the main prize, the $1,000.00 winning cheque will be presented to you at the premises of the business through whom you gained the code that was selected in the draw. Any  retailer prizes being given away will require collection by the prize winner.

11. Do I pay tax on any prizes won?

No, there is no tax to be paid, and the prizes do not have to be declared to the Australian Taxation Office. For further information please contact the ATO or your accountant.
